About easyCruise

easyCruise was founded by Stelios the serial entrepreneur and easyGroup chairman. From easyJet plc to car hire, internet cafes, credit cards and mobile phones, the easyGroup has applied the 'easy' brand to more than a dozen businesses currently in operation which can be viewed at www.easy.com.

easyCruise sets sail in the Mediterranean on 6 May 2005 offering flexible cruises aimed at independently-minded consumers in their 20's, 30's and 40's. The itinerary covers the South of France and Italian Riviera using the ports of St Tropez, Cannes, Nice, Monaco, Imperia (for San Remo), Portofino and Genoa.

The ship, easyCruiseOne, is a 170-passenger vessel with 86 cabins on board (75 twins, 7 quadruples and 4 suites). There is also a coffee bar (coffee and cakes), a sports bar (drinks and meals), a cocktail bar with Jacuzzi and evening DJ and also a gym.

In the innovative style of the easyGroup many changes have been brought to the conventional cruising business in the form of easyCruise in order to attract a new, younger customer. Passengers can join the cruise whenever and wherever they wish provided they stay on board for a minimum of two nights. The maximum stay permitted is 14 nights which represents two full itineraries.

Another major departure from convention is that easyCruiseOne will sail in the early hours of every morning, arriving in a new and exciting port by lunchtime. Most of the night will be spent in port. Passengers will be free to come and go ashore sight-seeing, shopping, swimming, visiting bars, restaurants and night clubs before the ship sets sail in the early hours, repeating this cycle on a daily basis.

easyCruise will also bring added value to the cruise industry and reduce prices. Cruises currently tend to be expensive as passengers are locked into a week long package where they stay on board every evening, enjoying sumptuous meals and entertainment whether it is wanted or not. easyCruise offers better value in three essential cost reducing ways:

1/ easyCruise offers cabins at prices starting from £25 (37.5 euros) per person per night, based on two sharing. Food and beverage as well as any chosen entertainment are on a 'pay as you go' basis (whether on board or on shore) so individual costs to customers are only incurred when and if they are required.

2/ easyCruise sells to its customers through its website only so that inventory and sales are managed through one streamlined process. This reduces costs to easyCruise which are passed on to passengers as better prices. Even travel agents buy cabins direct from www.easyCruise.com.

3/ The cabins on board easyCruiseOne are of a 'minimalist chic' design which means that a larger quantity of smaller cabins have been fitted inside the ship.
