easyCruise sets sail on 6 May
posted: 15.03.05
Stelios is addressing the Seatrade conference in Miami Beach, Florida today where he will announce that easyCruise will now set sail along the French and Italian rivieras on 6 May. easyCruise is designed to appeal to independently minded people in their 20's, 30's and 40's, a segment of the population who have not previously been the typical cruise customer.
Press Release
easyCruise allows holidaymakers to party in Cannes and wake up in St.Tropez
from only £14.50/per person per night based on two people sharing a cabin.
From 6 May 2005 easyCruise will offer travellers a unique opportunity to visit the playground of the rich and famous in the comfort and style of easyCruiseOne, a 170-passenger cruise ship. Flexible one-week itineraries will allow cruisers to embark and depart at any port along the route, provided they stay onboard for at least two nights. Unlike traditional cruises, the ship will stay in port in the afternoon and the evening to encourage travellers to have afternoon fun ashore, and then party the night away before sailing in the early hours of each morning for the next destination along the glamorous Riviera.
According to the cruise lines founder, Stelios: The easyCruise concept represents an approachable and flexible way for contemporary travellers to enjoy one of the most glamorous regions of the world, while easily controlling the cost of this unique holiday experience.

easyCruise Customers
easyCruise is designed to appeal to independent-minded passengers in their 20's, 30's and 40's who have not previously considered travel on a conventional cruise. easyCruise passengers can join the ship, easyCruiseOne, at whichever port they wish and stay on board for as little as two nights or up to a maximum of two weeks which represents two full itineraries). The current itinerary covers St Tropez, Cannes, Nice, Monaco, Imperia (for San Remo), Genoa and Portofino.
Another significant departure from the traditional is that each day easyCruiseOne will arrive in a new and exciting destination by lunch time. The ship will remain in port until the early hours of the following day before sailing to the next port, once again arriving by lunch time. Passengers will be free to come and go while the ship is in port, allowing them to benefit from the world-famous resorts along the route. Activities may include visits to restaurants, bars, nightclubs, sightseeing, shopping, beaches and any form of independent entertainment. Alternatively, passengers may wish to book one of the excursions which will be offered to them on board the ship.
The Monaco Grand Prix
On Sunday 22 May at 2pm, the Formula 1 Grand Prix race takes place in Monaco. During that weekend easyCruiseOne will deviate from its weekly itinerary in order to be closer to the action. On Saturday 21 May the ship will sail from Nice early in the morning and anchor near Monaco where it will remain until Monday 23 May and then resume its normal itinerary by sailing to Genoa in the early hours of the morning of 24 May.
Potential customers are advised that whilst every effort will be made to minimize disruption during that weekend the levels of crowding experienced in Monaco during that weekend make it very different from any other day of the year. Be prepared for some fun but also some inconvenience.
For clarity buying a cabin on easyCruiseOne does NOT entitle you to access to the race and the ship will be too far out at anchor to be able to see anything from the deck. It will be like staying in a hotel in a nearby town.
During the period (May 21-23) boarding the ship will be by tender boat from the nearby port of Fontvieille.
