easyCruise Summer '06 Mediterranean inventory

The easyCruise Summer 2006 inventory from 16 May to 30 October is now available at www.easyCruise.com with cabin prices starting at £14 per person per night, based on two people sharing. As demand increases for the Summer '06 inventory, so prices will rise so passengers wanting to get the best prices should book early to avoid disappointment. Prices are for accommodation only as easyCruise passengers themselves decide whether to dine on board or ashore.

Ports of call, which proved both popular and successful during 2005, remain the same - Nice (Friday), Cannes (Saturday), St Tropez (Sunday), Monaco (Monday), Genoa (Tuesday), Portofino (Wednesday) and Imperia for San Remo (Thursday).

With his characteristic style of innovation, Stelios the serial entrepreneur has introduced cruising to a young crowd who would not necessarily have considered cruising in the past. During the Summer of 2005 the average age of easyCruise passengers was 32 years old, more than 20 years younger than the published industry average. This published industry average includes children in its averages so, for example, for every five year old on board a cruise liner there is probably an eighty year old to balance out the average. On the other hand easyCruise only accepts passengers who are fourteen years old and above as the ship, easyCruiseOne, does not have children's facilities. Consequently the easyCruise average age of 32 really does reflect that there is a young crowd on board easyCruiseOne.

There are two main reasons why easyCruise has succeeded in attracting a young crowd. First, easyCruiseOne stays in port every night so passengers are free to go ashore to party the night away. By contrast the rest of the cruise industry generally sets sail in the early evening so that passengers are obliged to be back on board every day before dinner time. Secondly, passengers can join an easyCruise where and when they want, subject to a two night minimum, fourteen night maximum stay. Both these reasons give easyCruise passengers much more independence than a conventional cruise line and are the main reasons why easyCruise is attracting a genuinely young crowd.

easyCruiseOne has 75 double cabins, 7 quad cabins and four suites and carries a total of 170 passengers and 54 crew. On board there is a Sports Bar with restaurant and evening DJ, a Café Ritazza, an on-deck bar with hot tub, a shop and a gym.

"Without easyCruise the only way to visit this playground of the rich and famous in this style would be with a private yacht," said Stelios the serial entrepreneur and easyGroup chairman. "After a successful 2005 season I am looking forward to introducing the French and Italian rivieras to more of the young crowd at great prices in 2006," he continued.

easyCruiseOne is currently completing its Summer '05 season in the Mediterranean. From 12 November until 26 April 2006 it will be cruising the Caribbean - Barbados, St Vincent, Martinique, The Grenadines, Grenada and St Lucia - before returning once again to the French and Italian rivieras for the Summer 2006 season.
