The JACT Annual Conference sponsored by easyCruise

Last week, the Annual Conference of the Joint Association of Classical Teachers took place, at which easyCruise were present as sponsors.
Boris Johnson, newly elected Mayor of London and JACT President, closed the Conference with the Presidential Address; in it, he highlighted some of the recent victories of JACT and Classics supporters throughout the country with regard to the continuation of the Ancient History A-level, as well as the addition of a new Ancient History GCSE. He applauded publications such as Omnibus, Minimus and the Cambridge Latin Course, for developing new audiences for classics. Mr Johnson also recognised the importance of Classics Outreach Project, announced at the conference by Professor Harrison, Chair of JACT. A central part of this project is the ongoing development of The Online Classics Gateway, a database listing outreach projects throughout the country that will also help to identify areas in which there is a lack of resources available.
As the Classical Greece itinerary aims to widen the scope of Classics, easyCruise were happy to lend their support to JACT, an association that has been very active in this respect and seeks to improve and maintain the quality of the teaching of Classics.
