easyCruise.com reconfirms the first cruise of easyCruise Life sailing on 17th of May, 2008 from Piraeus, Greece
posted: 25.04.08
Passengers that had booked on earlier cruises have been offered generous compensation packages including full refunds and future free cruises.
easyCruise Life, the second and bigger ship of easyCruise.com had been undergoing major refurbishment in Greece since November, 2007. Due to major industrial action over the last few months affecting shipyard workers in Greece relating to the government’s reform of the pension plan, the works have been delayed and the decision was finally made now to set the first sailing on the 17th of May, 2008. easyCruise.com has apologized to all its customers and has offered generous compensation and alternatives. Customers may contact our call center about the arrangements on +30 211 211 6 211.
In general the ship already looks really good and the public areas (restaurant, lounge, bar, pool, spa and hot tubs) have been showcased in glamorous charity event in Athens on the 17th of April, 2008. The event was attended by the High Society of Athens and raised €113,000 for a Greek charity for disabled children called elepap. On the 26th of April, 2008 the ship will be in position in the main port of Piraeus and booked passengers are offered a guided tour on board and dinner, and possible overnight accommodation in port, before departing for their alternative holiday options.
